Original painting. Date of creation: 2017

The painting depicts four Indian women of different ages and types in red sarees and jewelry. This work was born from a small sketch that I made during one of my travels in India. I wanted to depict not only the four stages of a woman's life, but also show others the various features that are widely spread in India - Vedoid, Dravidian, Tibeto-Burmese and Caucasoid. I decided to create in one picture not only faces of different ages and different characters, but also anthropological types.
All women are dressed in red saris - this is the color of Shakti, the vital female energy in the Hindu tradition, of which the entire manifested world consists.
