Original painting. Date of creation: 2017

The painting depicts an everyday scene in the city of Varanasi - two women in saris are sitting on the threshold of a house. Their house is right next to the Ganges River. I spied this scene during a trip to this sacred and colorful Indian city. I don’t know exactly who these women are to each other, but when I saw them, a finished composition was immediately born in my head. I bought a canvas and a stretcher from a local market and started painting right away.

Therefore, when buying a painting, you have a chance to touch the real Indian aesthetics - despite the seeming unpretentiousness of the materials, the painting is stretched on a stretcher and executed flawlessly.
